Born in Lisbon, Rute Dutra began her musical training at the Escola Art\u00edstica de M\u00fasica Conservat\u00f3rio Nacional (EAMCN), where she studied Piano and Voice. Between 1996 and 2000, with a scholarship of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Rute Dutra completed a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Vocal Studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In 2013, she obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Specialized Music Education \u2013 Voice, from the Escola Superior de M\u00fasica de Lisboa, awarded with a Merit Scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her training, she attended several advanced courses in vocal technique and style, and after graduating, she continued to participate in workshops and training focused on vocal pedagogy, voice teaching methodologies, vocal practice, and pedagogy related to the changing voice, among other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She worked for 30 years with the Gulbenkian Choir and, during that time, collaborated with other Portuguese choral and vocal ensembles, with which she performed in numerous concerts, made recordings, and took part in many tours, both as a chorister and as a soloist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has taught Voice and Vocal Technique at several music schools in Portugal, including Canto Firme, Eborae M\u00fasica, the Regional Conservatory of Covilh\u00e3, the Santar\u00e9m Music Conservatory, and the Conservat\u00f3rio de M\u00fasica da F\u00edsica of Torres Vedras. She also worked as a Vocal Coach at the Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Musical Lisboa Cantat, where she was part of the artistic coordination team of its Children\u2019s and Youth Choir. She also led the vocal technique training of children participating in Operafest 23 Lisbon and Operafest 24 and 25 Lisbon\/Oeiras, in the operas The Magic Flute<\/i> by W. A. Mozart and Le Petit Poucet<\/i> by Isabelle Aboulker. She has been a Voice teacher at EAMCN since 2001, where she has developed her pedagogical work with students aged 6 to 30 and, over the past 15 years, research in the field of vocal pedagogy for adolescents and pre-adolescents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over a 25-year career dedicated to teaching Voice and Vocal Technique, she has also conducted seminars on innovative methodologies in music and vocal pedagogy for adolescents and young adults, participated in several Erasmus projects for students and teachers through EAMCN in partnership with various European schools, and served as a cooperating teacher supervising master\u2019s-level teaching placements from higher education institutions in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout her career, she has guided dozens of young singers, preparing them for admission to higher education programs in Voice at some of the world\u2019s most prestigious institutions, such as the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, the Juilliard School in New York, the Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Trinity College London, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, and the Institute of the Arts Barcelona, among others. As a faculty member at EAMCN, she has also been an integral part of the team responsible for developing the Basic Voice Course and for creating and organizing the Professional Voice Course, as well as contributing to the creative team of the \u201cPerforming Arts Atelier,\u201d a group performance class offered by the school.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
