Tia Pikija

Soprano

Croatian soprano Tia Pikija (born 2001) currently studies concert solo singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (MDW) in the class of Professor Claudia Visca.

In May 2025, she appeared as Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in a staged orchestral production at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The previous month, she took on the title role in the Medea Projekt, uniting music by Aribert Reimann and Luigi Cherubini, likewise performed scenically with orchestra at the MDW. In March 2025, she portrayed Suor Genovieffa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in Vienna. Her series of performances during this period began in January 2025, when she sang the role of Mara in Anđelko Igrec’s Povratak razmetnoga sina at the Croatian National Theatre Varaždin, presented as a fully staged orchestral production.

Tia appeared in 2024 as Anna-Marie (J. Offenbach - Le mariage aux lanternes) at Kammeroper Rheinsberg and Ännchen (C. M. von Weber - Der Freischütz) at Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen. In 2023, she had her debut as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre. In 2022, she sang the soprano solo part in Bach's Matthäuspassion under the baton of Andelko Igrec and the Capella Savaria orchestra to name a few. She takes part in many concerts in Croatia and abroad.

The young soprano is a prizewinner of several international singing competitions, most recently she won the Young Talent Award and the Audience Award at the International Haydn Competition for Classical Lied and Aria, the third prize at the Triomphe de l'Art in Belgium (2022) and first prize at the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in the Czech Republic (2019) among others.

She attended masterclasses by Tiziana Šojat, Vlatka Oršanić, Luis Alberto Llaneza, Armando Puklavec and Gabriele Lechner.
